The sore limbs are still on ice and sharp movements are off-limits, as promotional staffing agency Kreate reflect on a fantastic day at the Prostate Cancer Charity Marketing Industry Triathlon at Dorney Lake, Eton.
As one of the headline sponsors, Kreate also activated the now legendary 'Banana Crew'. A sampling team designed to motivate competitors whilst fuelling them for the day's events. The team did a great job and a special mention must go to starlet of the event management team Gemma Samuels for her efforts in making the day such a success.
The event was enlightened by the presence of the Superstars competing, Lucozade endorsing, twice Olympic gold winning Decathlete- Mr Daley Thompson. Daley still looked in great nick and spent the day mixing with competitors in his official role a Prostate Cancer Charity Ambassador.
Highlights from Kreate's competitors include 'Kreate Athletic' featuring Neil Survilla notching a 21st place finish in a field of 42 teams in the Super Sprint Relay, the Cross Brother's 37th place (from 85) in the 3Quarter Relay and Ollie William's 37th place (from 72) in the Individual Sprint. Performance of the day goes to Kreate's Peter Pan figure, Steve 'Ironman' Evans. Like a fine wine, this man evidently gets better with age as he retained his 'Vets' crown for the second year running. He also showed his steel by refusing the use of a wetsuit in some rather parky water conditions!
The excellent Dorney Lake facility will be used for the 2012 Olympic rowing competition and the Kreate team look forward to putting in the hard yards and jostling for a place on the podium next year.
